There is something happening that is far greater than a building. It is far greater than a church organization, a ministry program, or even one congregation. God is inviting us into His story. When Jesus gave us the Great Commission in Matthew 28, He did not call only missionaries, pastors, or those who could travel around the world. He called all of us to take part in His mission—to go, to make disciples, and to make His name known among the nations.
And here is the beautiful thing:
You do not have to cross an ocean to be part of the mission. You may never sit in a church in Bangladesh. You may never walk the streets of Iraq. You may never visit Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Jordan, or another nation where people are searching for hope.
But through your prayers, you can be there.
Through your generosity, you can be there.
Through your faithfulness, you can be part of what God is doing there.
Somewhere today, a local church is being strengthened because someone decided to give.
Somewhere, a family is hearing about the love of Jesus because someone decided to pray.
Somewhere, a person who felt forgotten is discovering hope because someone they may never meet chose to believe that the Gospel must reach the nations. That person may never know your name—but God does. And that is why our giving is about much more than bricks, walls, buildings, or budgets.
We are investing in people.
We are helping restore broken families.
We are helping raise disciples.
We are helping strengthen churches.
We are helping carry the hope of Christ to places we may never personally reach. Think about that for a moment.
One day, in the presence of God, you may meet someone whose life was transformed because you prayed.
You may meet someone whose family was restored because you gave. You may meet a disciple who came to faith because your faithfulness helped make the Gospel possible in a place you had never even seen.
And perhaps that person will say,
“I don’t know who you are, but your obedience helped change my life.”
What an incredible day that will be.
So today, when we give, let us not think of it simply as giving money to a church.
We are giving ourselves to the mission of God.
When we pray, we are joining the mission.
When we give, we are joining the mission.
When we go, we are joining the mission.
And when we stand faithfully behind those who go, we are joining the mission. Because this is not merely our mission.
This is God’s mission. And what a privilege it is that He has chosen ordinary people like us to become part of something so extraordinary.
Let us pray. Let us give. Let us go. Let us believe.
Because somewhere, someone is waiting to hear the hope of Jesus—and we can be part of bringing that hope to them.
